Exploring Individualised Therapeutic Pathways

Therapy is a personalised journey of safety and stability, where you’re supported to explore your experiences, build insight, and develop wellness strategies. It involves learning new skills and tools that cultivate inner strengths which continue to grow and support you over time. For those who find direct conversation challenging, person-centred approaches like narrative therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, and meditation offer alternative ways to express yourself beyond words.

Walking-and-talk style sessions may also be an option depending on weather, mobility, safety, privacy, and availability. If this interests you, let’s discuss it when you get in touch.

Creative therapy methods like storytelling and art provide valuable pathways for exploring emotions, intentions, and life patterns and dominate storylines that may feel uncertain or hard to shift. Approaches like art therapy use non-verbal expression to bring unconscious thoughts into awareness, connecting the emotional brain (limbic system) with memory (hippocampus) and reasoning (frontal cortex). The non-confrontational approach supports new forms of expression and can create new neural pathways, promoting healing and integration, which is especially beneficial for trauma recovery.

Research indicates that expressive activities, like storytelling and art, allow people to explore and work through traumatic experiences safely. Expressive therapies are always optional, and you can decide day-to-day if they suit your needs.

Counselling

I offer counselling services which typically provides short- to medium-term support, focusing on issues such as anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem, anger, and workplace challenges.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, often involves longer-term work, to explore trauma and healing. While counselling aims to resolve immediate issues, psychotherapy looks at broader, long-term personal growth.
