A referral isn’t required to make an appointment; however, without one under the Victim Services Scheme, you’ll be responsible for the full consultation fee. If you are paying the full fee, you may be eligible for a rebate if you have Private Health extras.
When you book an initial session, you’ll receive two secure forms to complete online: an intake form for background information and a consent to treatment form. The first session lasts a bit longer (60-90 minutes) to allow time to review these forms and address any questions. We’ll discuss your concerns and hopes for therapy, building a foundation for how you would like to move forward together.
Sessions are guided by a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective, meaning I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel respected and empowered.
Together, we’ll explore your challenges at a pace that feels right for you, using evidence-based practices and tools that suit your needs—such as art therapy, narrative therapy, or skills-building techniques. You can expect an open, compassionate environment where we navigate barriers and build skills that support resilience and meaningful change.
I provide specialised, trauma-informed care to support those impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence, as well as individuals seeking mental health support. My areas of expertise include:
- Art Therapy: A creative approach that enables you to explore and express emotions through art, offering a safe, non-verbal, non-confrontational way to process trauma and mental health challenges.
- Narrative Therapy: An empowering practice that helps you reshape your personal story, identify strengths, and find meaning, promoting resilience and self-understanding.
- Support for Victim-Survivors and Mental Health: I offer a secure, compassionate environment tailored to the needs of those who have experienced trauma and those facing mental health difficulties, fostering safety, recovery, and growth.
I am dedicated to working with diverse groups, including women, young people, neurodiverse individuals, and members of the LGBTIQ+ community. My approach is inclusive, client-centred, and culturally sensitive, creating a respectful space where everyone feels understood and valued.
White Wolf Counselling Services offers therapeutic support for NDIS participants, including individual counselling and art therapy to support mental health, emotional well-being, and personal development. These services are available under the NDIS for participants with funding in Capacity Building or Therapeutic Support categories.
To access services, participants must have an active NDIS plan with funding for therapeutic support. If you’re unsure about eligibility, I can help you understand what services might be available through your NDIS plan.
As an NDIS supporter, I work to create a supportive environment that aligns with your individual goals. My approach is tailored to empower and encourage personal growth, skill-building, and emotional resilience.
How often will we meet?
The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and hopes. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly or every two weeks, but we can adjust this to support what works for you.
How quickly can I expect to feel better?
Healing is a unique process, and while some people may feel a sense of relief after a few sessions, it can take longer for others. Progress will vary, and I’m here to support you with whatever you need, at your own pace.
What if you (the therapist) can’t attend our appointment?
I will give you as much notice as possible for any planned absences, such as holidays, and keep ad-hoc absences to a minimum. I will work with you to reschedule to minimise any disruption to your schedule and momentum.
Do you offer phone or telehealth appointments?
Yes, I offer phone and telehealth sessions for clients who prefer remote options or cannot attend in person. These sessions are conducted through secure platforms to ensure your privacy.
While I’m here to support you in your therapeutic journey, please note that I do not offer crisis counselling. If you or someone you know is in immediate need of support, please reach out to one of the following services:
- Lifeline (13 11 14) – 24/7 crisis support
- Beyond Blue (1300 224 636) – Support for mental health
- 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732) – National sexual assault, domestic, and family violence counselling service
These services can offer immediate support in times of crisis.
Continuing Your Journey Outside of Sessions
Healing and reflection don’t have to stop when the session ends. Here are some tips to help support your journey between appointments:
- Practice Mindfulness: Regular mindfulness exercises, such as deep breathing, body scans, or grounding techniques like pressing the soles of your feet into the floor, can help you stay grounded and present throughout the day.
- Journaling or Art-Based Exercises: Use journaling or creative expression to externalize your thoughts and emotions. Transforming your feelings into something tangible can be a powerful way to process and reflect on your healing.
- Self-Care: Prioritize self-care and self-compassion each day. Engage in activities like physical movement, rest, connecting with loved ones, checking in on your thoughts, being kind to yourself, or doing things that bring you calm and joy.
- Set Small, Achievable Goals: Break larger goals into smaller, manageable steps to build a sense of accomplishment and momentum. Aim for goals that you are at least 70% sure you can achieve—if the likelihood is lower, consider adjusting the goal to make it more achievable.
Individual counselling sessions are 50 minutes and cost $160. If you have a Victim Services referral, sessions are free. For NDIS participants, the rate follows the NDIS Price Guide under Capacity Building: Therapy Services – Social Work. Private health rebates are available for counselling services.
Health rebates on offer are with ahm, Medibank, Bupa and ARHG (St Luke’s Health, Police Health, GMHBA, Emergency Services Health, Frank Health Insurance, Phoenix Health, see-u by HBF (previously CUA), AIA Health, Mildura Health, Teachers Union Health, Teachers Health, Nurses & Midwives Health, Unihealth and Westfind Health Insurance). The rebates available will depend on your cover and health fund.
Payments by credit card or direct deposit, and 24 hours notice is required if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a $60 cancellation fee. Call or email to make a cancellation. The White Wolf Counselling Services Cancellations and No Shows policy assists with appointment availability for others waiting for support and the financial impact of late changes.
Your privacy is a top priority. I use secure software that protects sensitive and private client data in compliance with strict data protection standards. All information shared in sessions is kept confidential, and records are securely stored to ensure your personal information is safe.
If there is ever a need to raise concerns with others—such as in cases where safety is at risk or as required by law—I will discuss this with you beforehand whenever possible. This includes communicating with appropriate agencies only when absolutely necessary. White Wolf privacy policies are designed to create a trusted, safe environment so you can feel secure sharing openly in your sessions.
